Maxxis Xenith 1.5

Pure slicks.

As I thought , the slicks did make me go faster. Smoother road as compared to my previous Panaracer T-serv 1.75. This 1.5 Xenith made me go faster, and when I did chiong , I felt that the rolling resistance became smoother , as though the bike was urging me to chioing more

As you might have guessed , this tire should not be intended on use on wet grounds, though Sheldon Brown says differently.

Bicycle tires for on-road use have no need of any sort of tread features; in fact, the best road tires are perfectly smooth, with no tread at all!

Unfortunately, most people assume that a smooth tire will be slippery, so this type of tire is difficult to sell to unsophisticated cyclists. Most tire makers cater to this by putting a very fine pattern on their tires, mainly for cosmetic and marketing reasons. If you examine a section of asphalt or concrete, you'll see that the texture of the road itself is much "knobbier" than the tread features of a good quality road tire. Since the tire is flexible, even a slick tire deforms as it comes into contact with the pavement, acquiring the shape of the pavement texture, only while incontact with the road.

People ask, "But don't slick tires get slippery on wet roads, or worse yet, wet metal features such as expansion joints, paint stripes, or railroad tracks?" The answer is, yes, they do. So do tires with tread. All tires are slippery in these conditions. Tread features make no improvement in this.

Maxxis wording on the tires are prolly tread indicators. So far , this is the 2nd day I have used it for my commute to school. The tires does collect dirt easily and make the tire seem old. Yet a reasonable inference can be taken from the centre line rubber thread that the tires have not worn out yet.

However sadly , science cannot seem to work on certain people who choose to put their education lying around instead of bringing it with them.

Great tires! 76 bucks a pair and certainly a decent upgrade for anyone with the need for speed.

Final Ride of June

Coastal, coastal , coastal , your beauty to charm, your serenity do wonders.

Half-Century Ride

On Wednesday , 10th June . Rupert and I went for a half-century ride!

A more general direction would be
Pasir Ris- Changi Beach Park- East Coast Park- Tampines - Pasir Ris

One such loop=42km
Half century ride= 2 loops = 84 km

First Loop

Preparing to set off..

                                                    Reward for that uphill...downhill!

                                                                Beautiful seaview...

Beautiful paths...

After this loop , took lunch(energy bar) at Pasir Ris Town Park.

2nd Loop
The sun was getting merciless!

Compare this picture with the one on the first loop! You can see how the shadows changes
                                                             Hiding from the sun!

59.45km done so far... legs aching , arms aching

The arms.. made me wonder. Was it the problem with the fit? Or peharps the withdrawal from Ergon grips...

                                                             Finally! White Sands!

This trip...was boring(2nd loop) , tiring , and yet satisfying. Will I do it again ? Maybe...But honestly I would have preferred a route that did not require me to do 2 rounds of the same path. Any suggestions , anyone?

Cateye HL-EL410

The Compact OptiCube™ light sets a new standard in size, brightness and versatility. With batteries, it weighs only 78 grams, and it's only 9.3 cm long. That's 2.6 ounces and 3.7 inches - much smaller (and brighter) than an energy bar. Three ultra bright LEDs are magnified with our OptiCube™ lens and reflector to produce more than 180 candlepower.

Replaced:Topeak WhiteLite HP 1W

Virgin Ride

It was time for Rupert to embrace the tranquility of nature, smoothing sounds of the waves , present in Pasir Ris Beach Park.

Wearing only my slippers , the test-ride was supposed to be only conducted in my carpark. The gears clicked with me at once and hinted to be let out to the surrounding air. With the granny , I rushed out of the carpark , sped towards the Park, and was welcomed by the new bicycling life I was going to experience!

How thin the tires really are

The ride:
Smooth threaded slicks helped to add comfort and that slick factor to the ride.Suspension provided relief from jumping from the kerbs , and the transition from riding a bmx bicycle to riding a hybrid bicycle made this comfort factors even more noticeable and appreciable Flat handlebar was alright , however , the 20inch size of the frame forced me into position that was perhaps, too sporty. Some things I will do to rectify the problem will be to move the seat forward or get a shorter stem. This will enhance the fit to the bike. One drawback of this bike was the poorly balanced wheels. Malay man at Tay Cycle was not competent in balancing the wheel! Could feel the rear wheel bumping.

Rebirth

Nah Emma didnt fit the orange/blue colour tone of the bike, IMO , so it was renamed Rupert.

Original  Hasa

Hybrid Conversion aka Rupert

Time to rub those semi-slicks on the...pavement.

New Form Of Emma

The hybrid bicycle is one that utilises the manoeuvrability of a mountain bike frame, comfort of the flat handlebar , but the speed and agility of slick road tires to equal as an formula for the best urban/rugged interchangeable bike. Additional details include the use of mountain bike gearing and 700C wheels.

Will be getting a Hasa MTB from my dad. The frame is aluminium and parts seem to be pretty good. The only Hasa branded thing I may keep on this bike is the frame ,cuz originally I have come not to like some brands because of the number of no-name and plastic components they have. Well this bike seems contrary to what I would have thought of the Hasa. Welding seems excellent. Will be converting the MTB into a Hybrid .

Originally , I had wanted a folding bike. The convenience and the void of possibilities that awaited me was endless, and it tempted me to a region in my heart which i specially made space for to accomodate this wonderful machine. Sadly , changes occur and it has seemed that my father will nto be getting the bike for me anymore. As I have spent my savings already , I cannot contribute much to the financial cost of the bike. With some persuasion , I decided to take his Hasa. Well, like a father to son passsing of items. Now, new possibilities may envelop... and I shall chance upon this new state, and with a little tinkering of mindset , I shall have a fun holiday season.
Cant wait for the speed that awaits me. Oh btw , the new steed is called Emma. My previous was Peter. So you can sorta guess how I am inspired to make names.

Duelling

Duelling is a form of escapism.
It involves the use of 2 long objects of any kind and an imaginative mind.
The rules of play may differ and there is no standard because that's not what escapism is. Places of play may include the classroom corridor.
How to play? Explaining things cannot seem to contain the enthusiasm I possess, so I will give an analogy.
A:Expelliarmus!
B:Reducto!
A:Expelliarmus!
B:Reducto!
A:Avada Kadavra!
B:(caught)

and B loses.

Of course this involves breaking 2 rules
-No use of underage magic in the Muggle world
-No magic in the corridors

And this is all geek.

Did I tell you I was a fan??

of Harry potter.
Raising eyebrows eh?

Here's evidence: I had a homemade wand

I'm not a nerd

No ideas

Nothing interesting seems to be going through my head now.
This blog was fun at first, but the fun that goes through you when u try out something again, and that rush takes you , it's temporary.

But dedication exists

Sadly I am not dedicated to a blog.

But...I never seem to be able to grasp the concept of a blog.
Fill me with knowledge but dont expect me to contain it inside myself.

Now thats something interesting.. at least to myself.

Flavours

A list of short posts.

Bitter ignorance
So foolish
Spicy ignorance
Impulsivity attacks you

Tasteless ignorance
Ignorance spared

Values

In my opinion,
Values cannot be taught by teachers. Values are the teachers themselves, and cannot be implemented.
Why?
Values are inside everybody.
It takes two hands to clap. How values work in a man , is how a man chooses for it to work. Everybody has values.
Everybody has values, and values can only be manifested.
Not taught.
Not taught, so dont try and implement values. Open them in people.
How?
Teach them to clap. But clapping takes initiative too, and in learning , it take two hands to clap.

Solution?
Clap loudly for others to hear.
Followers will follow
Leaders will lead

Hope leaders know how to clap

humourous severities

Humour is laughing. Laughing is enjoyable and can be done with everyone. It is sparked by something funny. And something funny, is humour
Severity is the seriousness of a case.Being serious is being focused. Being focused is being controllable , is managing impulsivity, is being educated.(If used for the right ways)

Once, I discussed with my friend about serious issues and we thought that doing homework in a graduation party was cool.

I made a new friend today

Your senses cannot detect
It, no matter how intellect
Your emotions cannot affect
But in your will, you may produce effects
Your argument cannot attract
It,though your persuasion may
Your group cannot crowd, for
This defeats it's purpose

An conversation no longer exists
A friendship no longer resists
Now after they all go home
You find yourself alone
What do you feel
You are solitude's companion
But such an oxymoron forces you
To accept solitude in yourself.

I have expanded my playground!

The chatbox's only a swing

vomit

Disgusted.

Lets see them lose the race to 6 year olds.
Lets see them lose the race with a smile
Lets see them lose the race with uncoordinated, ugly c
horeography.
Lets see them lose the race with an ignorance of the loss
Lets see them lose the race with the belief that they have won

Lets see them be overtaken, by themselves.

Step in but I'm aint expecting that

1.No blog frequency
2.Everything in my opinion
3.I dont expect you to read
